The Sovereign's Cipher

The city-state of Evergarde is a jewel of commerce and diplomacy, but its glittering façade conceals a foundation of secrets. Decades ago, during the Silent Rebellion, the ruling council was forced to make a dark pact to maintain order—a pact embodied in an artifact known as the Sovereign's Cipher. Believed by the public to be the city's founding charter, its true nature is a far more dangerous secret, known only to a select few sworn to protect it.

Now, a zealous faction known as the Dawncallers seeks the Cipher, believing it holds the key to unlocking a prophesied golden age. They are opposed by the Silent Ward, a clandestine order descended from the original keepers of the pact. Into this shadow war steps a professional, an individual whose only allegiance is to the contract.
